Hello everyone. Sadly not feeling great "ladies things you know!" Oh I am coming back as a man next time!!!!!!!!!! Any way thankyou so much for my award don't know how it get it but James will help me at the weekend. I love reading your comments. Yes Percy is just so wonderful, I love him to bits.
I got a letter in the post asking for help to get old people out for afternoon tea once a month. So off I went on Sunday to see what it was all about. What a wonderful time I had, these dear old ladies youngest 88 oldest 91 come to this lovely ladies home for tea (sandwiches and cake) they had such a lovely time bless them. They have no family of their own so they really enjoy the trip out. I am going to have them over soon and will let you know how it goes. My two friends have said they will join and have them over to. It is just so easy you only have to do it once a year. Life can be funny at time I so long to have my mum and dad back if only for an hour to make such they know just how much I loved them both. Sad post but ha oh. Take care Love Lesley.xx

  1. Working in a residential home I can assure you how much it will mean to the people to be able to come to you for tea.

Wish there were more people around that would offer to do the same xx

Mum much used to say that men have to shave everyday, whilst we only had to put up with feeling grotty once a month, my reply was if I was a man I would grow a beard!!

  2. What a lovely thing to do. My friend volunteers at an old peoples home, shes as mad as a hatter so they love her to bits.

  3. Dear,dear Lesley,

You have inspired me with your kindness. Although,I'm sure like many, I have very little spare time, I will inquire about anything similar around my area. I have a Grandmother ,94, who used to live with us until recently. She's back in Poland ,living with my Auntie now, where she feels more at home due to language etc. I loved her with me. Old People have such wealth of knowledge, experience and wisdom. What is most breathtaking, however, is their optimism and zest for life.
    Good on you!

Ps. Hope you feel better soon.

  4. Hope you are feeling better now. What a lovely idea for the 'old Ladies, as Joasia says they are a wealth of knowledge and all they really want is a bit of company - good on you!

  5. What a lovely thing to do for the old ladies, you will make their day. It is so hard to lose your parents isn't it, but you have memories and you loved them and they loved you back, and that counts for a lot!

Many thanks for your kind comments, all rabbits are gone I am afraid! Love Linda x
