I am home!

I've decided that anyone who comes up with a half decent garden should get a medal from the Queen - what with freezing Spring weather, hail, torrential rain, late frosts, mildew, black spot, aphids, caterpillars, slugs, hose-pipe bans and sudden tropical weather. Talk about keep calm and carry on!!! Ahhh!

This was a message from one of the gardeners opening for me. We have 12 gardens opening this year.

I have been away to stay with a friend in Kettering and had a wonderful time. Have been to see some wonderful gardens, eaten far to much and now I am back to work after my op really loved being at home. Enjoy the weather Love Lesley.x

"49"

Well what can I say it ws my Birthday on wednesday and I was 49! How did that happen? Who is that women in the mirror and where did all those years go. Still on a happier note I did get so many lovely things I was very lucky. Bird boxes I have lots all over the garden I love the birds. A out door mirror for the garden which is being moved around a lot can't make up my mind where to put it. Lots of books, sweets and old china lucky, lucky me.

This is my wonderful Dads old bench we would sit on here for hours. I so miss Him, we would spend so much time talking about the garden. It is just lovely to sit and think of wonderful things that we did.He was an amazing person.

My Dad loved sweetpeas so I have planted lots in the garden this year. My sister and I are off to stay with a friend next week, so lots of shopping, eating and girly time."heaven" Feeling much better now thankfully. Malvern Show.

We had a great time at the show! Oh but it was hard work not being in the best of health. We had to have lots of stop for coffee and for me to rest.I am very luck as my friends took great care of me.

What did I buy, Roses I love them and lots of other lovely things will show you when I have taken photos.

I am having a day resting today. It is my Birthday on wednesday "49". So off shopping with my wonderful Sister.

Happy to say

I am feel loads better.I am not good at sitting around! Percy can't understand why Mr D is doing all his walks and I am being left behind. He is following around all the time.He must of missed me loads! James come home for the weekend to make sure I was ok, bless him and he got me a cath kidston bag. I have tried to go for a walk put it really takes it out of me. I am hoping to go to the Malvern spring show on sunday but we will have to wait and see how I go. It is pouring down here I long for some sunhine hopefully it will come at the weekend. Take care hope to be back to my old self soon Love Lesley.x

A week in hospital

I have been in hospital pain got so bad. Have had a big op now need time to get over it. Hope to read all your wonderful blogs when well enough! Lesley x

Please,please can it stop raining now!

This year we only have 8 gardens opening so far. I think because of all this rain it is putting people off. Well I hope that it is, what it is! I am just going to have to cross everything and pray it will be ok and more garden will come forward.

This years Open Gardens.

Tonight we are going to have a meeting about this years Open Gardens. I hate talking in front of people but the open garden is so important to me.I will do whatever it takes to raise money for this charity. "Breakthrough Breast Cancer" I have done lots of Moon Walks with friends and with my Mr D bless him. I have even gone to New York with Walk the Walk. I think my days of pounding the streets are over. We have been having the Open Gardens here for about 10 years. I love my garden but it is not as lovely as many of the gardens that open.I have to spend so much time getting everything ready for the event that my poor garden get left behind but I sell cream teas so that makes up for it! I have so many lovely friends and my wonderful sister that help me I am truly blessed. Lets hope we can get enough gardens to open this year.

Oh and just as I was thinking of giving up my little flower business two brides callled me this week to ask me to do there flowers. They are both getting married in the old railway train. My last wedding there.
